Regarding runes, the most common and popular series you will find available are the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark. When contemplating this series I decided I wanted to offer something different and so, in the spirit of my homeland, I opted to use what is known as the Futhorc - the Old English Runes that contain five additional letters. These particular runes are less known and have come in a variety of forms and numbers and so settling on which to use came down to my discovery of a rune poem, telling the tale of 29 runes and the meanings of their names.

This series has been broken down into 3 different editions, giving you a variety of options on what is included with your purchase.

THE HARROW EDITION

The word Harrow has its origins in the Old English word Hearg, meaning a pile of stones at an altar site. This edition has been crafted with the altar in mind and so each rune is individually carved onto a large piece of highly polished stone measuring 10cm x 7cm. There are 4 individual versions of this edition available, the Oak Edition, Ash Edition, Thorn Edition and Grave Edition. Each set is housed in a custom made leather bag featuring its equivalent rune upon its lid which closes with a fine clasp. Also inside the bag will be found a miniature leather book measuring 6cm x 5cm that serves as a handwritten lexicon of the runes letter associations. To accompany the Harrow Edition a full copy of the rune poem the series is based upon will be provided in both Old English and its Modern English translation. This will be produced on parchment paper and bound inside a custom leather folio, again featuring the letter of its edition and subsequently housed in a black tube container featuring the runic name of the edition.

THE HEAVEN EDITION

The sky in Old English was named Heofan, which is the origin of our Modern English word Heaven. This edition has been crafted with the sky in mind and is limited to just two versions, Sunna or The Sun Goddess and Mane or The Man in the Moon. The runes in this edition are highly polished circular pieces of stone measuring 4cm in diameter and housed in a high quality jute bag. Each bag will have a custom made leather tag with its associated rune. The Heaven Edition will also feature the full copy of the rune poem the series is based upon, provided in both Old English and its Modern English translation. This will be produced on parchment paper and bound inside a custom leather folio, again featuring the letter of its edition and subsequently housed in a black tube container featuring the runic name of that edition.

THE SHRINE EDITION

With 6 runes represented in the Harrow Edition and Heaven Edition, the remaining 23 runes are represented in the Shrine Edition. As opposed to the altar stones of the Harrow Edition, the Shrine Edition is aimed at the wayfarer and are crafted onto 4cm diameter stone and housed in a high quality jute bag. Each bag has a custom made leather tag with its associated rune.

All editions will have included with them a wax sealed envelope with a small card featuring a list of the runes of the poem and the meaning ascribed to it. Inserted will also be the single entry for the poem featuring the letter of your purchase in both Old and Modern English.
